KYH SESSION SHEET / BAND

Band strength support

30–40 min · General adult education · Reviewed 31 October 2026

Before you start

General educational template; not a medical assessment or individualized elite coaching plan. Exact exercises, sets and week placement are KYH editorial choices informed by the linked principles. Not independently reviewed by a clinician.

These examples are for adults without symptoms or restrictions affecting exercise. Pain/injury, illness, pregnancy/postpartum or clinical restrictions need individual advice. Experienced templates require established technique and regular training. Use the pathway readiness check before matching a plan.

Stop for pain, dizziness, chest symptoms or unusual breathlessness. Urgent or severe symptoms need urgent local medical help. Do not push through symptoms.

Equipment
Stable chair and an undamaged resistance band with a secure anchor

Effort
Keep about 3 comfortable repetitions in reserve; no forced repetitions.

Prepare

6–8 min of easy movement and light rehearsals.

Rest 60–120 seconds between sets, longer if needed.

  1. Chair squat

    2 sets × 8–10

Touch the chair with control and stand; do not drop onto the seat.

Easier option: Use hands or choose sit-to-stand.

  2. Standing band row

    2 sets × 8–12

Use only an anchor designed and secured for the band. Pull elbows back gently while keeping your trunk steady.

Easier option: Use lighter resistance. If the anchor is uncertain, use standing shoulder-blade squeezes: arms by your sides, draw the shoulder blades gently together for 2 seconds, 8–12 times. This is a mobility alternative, not an equal resistance exercise.

  3. Wall or stable incline push-up

    2 sets × 8–12

Use a wall or a fixed, non-slip surface; bend and straighten elbows with control.

    Easier option: Choose the wall.

  4. Glute bridge

    2 sets × 8–12

Lie with knees bent and feet planted. Lift hips comfortably and lower without arching.

Easier option: Skip if floor access is difficult.

Finish & reflect

3–5 min easy movement. Inspect the band and anchor before every session.

Repeat familiar work before changing one variable modestly. Progress only when technique, comfort and recovery support it. Never pack missed sessions together.
